How It Works

How BeatMyTicket Works

BeatMyTicket provides an administrative service to help you challenge private parking charges quickly and correctly.

Here’s exactly how the process works from start to finish.

Step 1 — Upload your Parking Charge Notice

Submit your parking charge notice (PCN) and any photos or evidence using our online form.

You do not need to pay anything at this stage.

We collect:

• Your PCN details
• Vehicle registration
• Parking operator
• Any supporting evidence

This allows us to review whether your case is suitable for an appeal.

Step 2 — We review your case

Our team reviews your submission to check whether there are valid grounds to appeal.

This includes checking for issues such as:

  • Signage problems
  • Incorrect or unclear evidence
  • Grace period errors
  • Technical or compliance issues

If your case is not suitable, we will let you know — there is no obligation to continue.

Step 3 — You choose whether to proceed

If your case looks suitable for an appeal, we will invite you to proceed.

At this point:

  • You authorise us to prepare and submit the appeal
  • You pay a £5 administration fee to proceed
  • You provide secure card authorisation via Stripe

This £5 covers the cost of preparing and submitting your appeal.
Your card will only be charged an additional £10 if your parking charge is successfully cancelled.
If your appeal is unsuccessful, no success fee is charged.

Step 4 — We prepare and submit your appeal

We draft a professionally structured appeal based on:

  • The information you provided
  • The parking operator’s rules
  • Industry standards and appeals guidance

We then submit the appeal on your behalf to the parking operator.

You do not need to contact the parking company yourself.

Step 5 — Escalation if required

If the parking operator rejects the appeal and the case is eligible, we escalate it to the independent appeals service (such as POPLA).

We continue to manage the process and submit the required documentation for you.

Step 6 — Outcome & payment

If your parking charge is cancelled:
• Your £10 success fee is charged
• The £5 administration fee you already paid is retained

If your parking charge is not cancelled:
No success fee is charged
• You only pay the £5 administration fee you paid when you chose to proceed
• Your card will not be charged anything further
•You remain free to decide whether to pay the charge or take further action yourself.
